OCEAN PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS-PHILIPPINES
(OPCV-PH)

OPCV is a non-profit organization originated and based in Geneva, Switzerland. The group aims to ensure a healthful and balance ecology.

OPCV-Philippines was organized in November 26, 2012 by Honorary Chair-Founder Israel Sayao vested through iSAVE-Ilocano Social Action and Vanguards of the Environment based in Province of Ilocos Sur. Christopher M. Valmoja iSAVE Secretariat Coordinator was appointed as President and was authorized by the OPCV Board of Trustees via Hon. Israel Sayao and Hon. Lilyjane Edurise to conduct recruitment drive in Ilocos, Philippines.

Why is there a need to be organized?

Our oceans are being threatened by human intervention to the natural flow of the environment. In Ilocos, Cagayan and other regions in the country faces the issue of BLACK SAND or MAGNETITE MINING in beaches. Aside from that Mining Gold, Silver, Copper and other minerals in mountainous regions brings threat to our oceans.

Development needs regulation applying the principles of Sustainable Development or a development that allows present generation to meet the needs without compromising the ability of the future generation to meet their needs.
